Raw Material Differences:
MPP Power Conduit: Primarily made of modified polypropylene (PP raw material modified), this material gives MPP power conduits strong compressive strength, high temperature resistance, and good flexibility. Its smooth inner and outer walls result in low friction, leading to a longer service life, making it particularly suitable for 10KV and above high-voltage power transmission cable conduits.
CPVC Power Conduit: Primarily made of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride resin (PVC-C resin). This material also possesses good insulation, high temperature resistance, and toughness, and is not prone to aging. It is easy to install and is an ideal replacement for traditional power cable sheathing conduits.
Applicable Temperature Range Differences:
MPP Power Conduit: Can be used long-term in temperatures ranging from -5°C to 70°C, maintaining high performance for up to 50 years. It has high moisture resistance and high strength, making installation and cable laying extremely convenient, helping to save costs.
CPVC Power Conduit: While it also has some high-temperature resistance, its heat distortion temperature only reaches 80°C, making its stability at higher temperatures slightly inferior to MPP power conduits.
Connection Method Differences:
MPP power conduit: Uses a welding machine for hot-melt butt welding. The weld point is around 200°C (not exceeding 220°C). Once the temperature is reached, the two ends are connected, resulting in a strong and reliable connection.
CPVC power conduit: Uses a reducing socket connection, with a high-temperature rubber ring added to the flared socket joint to prevent the effects of thermal expansion and contraction on the connection. This connection method eliminates the need for on-site concrete pouring and protective layers, making construction simpler.
Application Area Differences:
MPP power conduit: Due to its excellent performance and wide applicability, it can be widely used in municipal, power, water supply, telecommunications, and heating pipeline projects; it performs particularly well in urban and rural trenchless horizontal directional drilling power conduit projects. Furthermore, it can be used for industrial wastewater discharge and open-cut power conduit projects. In areas where excavation is not feasible, such as historical sites, highways, urban areas, rivers, and agricultural and farmland protection zones, it further reduces damage to road surfaces.
CPVC power pipes are mainly used in engineering parks, residential communities, civil aviation airport construction, urban power grid construction and renovation, and urban municipal renovation projects. They primarily serve a guiding and protective function, playing a vital role in these fields.
Price Difference: The market price of CPVC power pipe materials is significantly lower than that of MPP power pipe materials. Therefore, from a cost-performance perspective, CPVC power pipes are more advantageous.
In summary, MPP and CPVC power pipes differ significantly in raw materials, applicable temperature ranges, connection methods, application areas, and prices. When choosing, a comprehensive consideration of the specific construction environment and requirements is necessary to select the most suitable pipe type.
